More progress!

Tim brought some plants for our pond and we created a log pile.

Then Tim started to make our decking.
Nature club are learning how to look after the wild area.

Filling the pond

Last summer we filled the pond with water. We had a lot of help from Tim the ranger and Mr Balding!

Wonderful nature!

Nature club and some of our school council members have been making bird boxes with Tim the ranger. Tim has put them up around the school for us.

Our quiet area

Council members old and new have seen their plans evolve in the past couple of weeks as the new quiet area takes shape.

After lots of thinking, measuring, sketching and talking, the path and seating area were completed.
Then nature club had a lovely time creating some stepping stones, with a little help from Keith and Jake. What do you think?
We can't wait to start using it!

Creating the Wild Area

Look what's growing in our wild area! We have made the most of it and been out sketching ...
and learning about creating a pond, with Tim the Ranger!

The school council worked with an architect - Mr Yates - and came up with some fab ideas for the pond and wildlife area. He included a lot of the children's ideas.

On the day of the dig, Mrs Kineavy marked out the pond with spray ... and some of the children's designs with rope.

Then Miss Blackburn started to dig!

Okay, Miss Blackburn didn't really dig, just scraped a bit of grass really! The real digger driver had to take over! He worked hard and we watched! Five foremen and one worker?!

Mr McClure did a fab job and has saved everyone else a lot of hard work.
Watch this space to see what happens next!
